Samco Sport has been involved in Formula Student for two years and has experienced quite a lot of success. In the 2002 Formula Student event we worked with the University of Coventry and the University of Hertfordshire, supplying Samco sport hoses to allow optimum engine layouts. Both teams did exceptionally well, the University of Coventry managed to present a car that was able to hit 60mph from a standing start in only 4.2 seconds thanks to one of the most powerful engines in the competition. The University of Hertfordshire managed to win two awards from Shell Global Solutions and IS Motosport Ltd for the most fuel efficient car and Best Wiring Harness design respectively and are Officially Formula Student Class 1 (200) European Champions. Samco Sport are always impressed by the amount of work and the professional manor of the race teams we have dealt with, during our contact with the formula student teams. Samco Sport is therefore continuing to sponsor formula student teams with product to help enhance car performance.
